Dave Billotte is a veteran farrier in his twentieth year of shoeing. He is a graduate of Heartland Horseshoeing School in Lamar, MO. He and his wife, Liz and daughter, Grace run Little B Ranch and Horseshoeing in Frenchville, PA where Dave is primarily a farrier, but also trains horses specializing in cowboy mounted shooting. Together they founded the first successful Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) affiliated club in Pennsylvania circa 2011 called the Keystone Cowboys. Dave still serves as president of the club that hosts several sanctioned CMSA events including the PA State Championship each year. He also sits on the CMSA National Advisory Board, the CMSA Futurity and Stallion Incentive Board and is part of the CMSA Professional Horseman’s Association.
Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, Dave did extensive trail riding with his dad and the Tom Mix Rangers riding club. He has also shown horses in 4-H gravitating towards reining. Through his reining lessons and exposure, he learned early on the importance of horsemanship, collection and control. He has always had a love and admiration for the old west and the firearms of the era, so combining that with his horsemanship made cowboy mounted shooting a natural fit. Since starting in the sport, Dave has traveled all over the nation competing and building a resume of accolades and horses that he has trained for the sport. Dave is also a member of the Stagecoach West Ride Team and has a saddle that he designed, through them, for the sport of mounted shooting called the Rangemaster. His sponsors include Lonesome Pine Ammo, Pennwoods Equine Products, Stagecoach West and of course Weaver Leather.
